The settlers of Tauranga are concerned' as to the causes and results of a mysterious sheep disease which pteyailß at Tauranga, and a committee has been appointed to investigate it.
The Standard Accident Insurance Go. Ltd., have ah announcement in another column. This well known company makes liberal reductions in premiums after the firet year. Mr G. S. W. Dalrymple is the local agent of the company. Tho arnual meeting of the Mastevton Bifle Volunteers was held last evening after the usual parade. The report ana balance-sheet were read and adopted, and the members of the Committee re-elected. Mr J.M. Hickson was elected Secretary, vice Mr A. A. White, who retains the Treasurership. We regret to record the deatb of Mr Wm, Buuniber, junr., which at hia residence, Masterton, Mr Bautnber, it ap}»ars, wajL ta}t<pb ill yesterday afternoon, and wit unable this morning to go to work. Dr Busking was sent for shortly before noon, but on his arrival found that the unfortunate young man was quite cold, having tj«en dead fur some time. Mrs Baumbqr wm not aware of her .husband's death until after the doctor arrived, as ibfi suppoKd he was sleeping, and did not wish' to disturb him. The cause of death is supposed to have been an iuternal affection, resulting from a severe cold recently contracted. Mueh sympathy is expressed for . Mrs Baumber in hor bereavement, as she had not long been married.
