FOOTBALL.

A special meeting of the Red Star Football Club was held in the Empire Hotel on Thursday evening. About thirty members were present, and Mr H. Wilsone presided. The resignations of Messrs D'Arcy and Watson were receiyed, and their action in leaving wai strongly commented upon, a resolution being carried that their reasons for so doing was very unsatisfactory. The election of officers to fill the vacancies caused by the resignations resulted as follows : Captain, Mr W. Iggulden ; vice-cap' tain, Mr E. Pelling; secretary, Mr 11. Wilsone; match committee, Messrs Morris and Felling; delegate to Union, Mr E. Collier. Tho Secretary announced that six medals had been offered for competition, and it was resolved to allot three to each team, for the best back, best forward, and most useful player, the members of each team to vote according to their opinions by inserting a voting paper in a closed box after every match, the same to be opened at the cloae of the season. It was resolved to enter teams for the Senior and Junior Cups. The following team was chosen oo play all comers on the Oval on Saturday:—Backs, Le Cren, Felling, Renall, Iggulden, Hudson, Thompson, Hansen; forwards, Morris, J. and 0. Percy, Wilsone, Hoar, W. Welch, Reuieni.
