.• —: (By Telegraph). (United Press Association.) SU2SQBSD ICUSSSBNew Plymouth, Monday. It is reported here that a European living' with a Native woman in Tuhua country, stabbed her with a knifeduringthe night, Wiling her, and buried the body wider the floor of thewhare. The mother and friends missed the woman and searched for her, and'finding the floor of the whare disturbed opened the earth and discovered the body. A constable from Koiti, and some natives have gone to the place to enquire into the matter. The affair is said to have happened on Tuesday last.-
Loss of a Barque.
- Monday - News has been received here from Home, stating that Captain Gregory of Auckland, was compelled tbe English Barquentine off Scilly Isles .in a gale, while bound from London to New Zealand via South Africa,' on March 18th. The vessel was a total loss. She was insured at Home. Captain Norn's and Mr Carland, of Auckland, who were the owners, had recently purchased the vessel. All hands were saved.
The shelly Bay Explosion*
Wellington, Monday. Although Mr Coates, counsel for Mrs Heighten, withdrew the charge of manslaughter against Captain Falconer. Mr Jellicoe, who had been acting for her, insists that the case shall come on, and there promises to be some confusion when the charge is called on to morrow.

"Wellikgion, Monday. The half-yearly sitting of the Court of Appeal began this morning before the Chief Justice, .and Justices Wit'? liams, Denniston, Conolly and Edwards. All the morning was teltpn up in delivering judgment. Twelve cases are on the list.
