WOODVILLE TO MANGAHAO.
The Government are obtaining a report on the matter brought under the notice of the Minister of Lauds, of providing a, reliable road in all seasons between Mangahao and Wocidville by way of the Gorge. This road will be a most important outlet, connecting the fertile valley of the Mangahao by a short road, independent of floods, to the freezing works. In wet weather, as matters stand, the Mangahao settlors are blocked in by flooded rivers, often for days at a time, whereas there is further the risk of many lives being lost in communication by the present route with that thriving sattlement. The Maugahao district has been cruelly treated in the past in the matter of roads.— Examiner,
