ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Alfcedton Road Board was held on April 7th. ;PrOTentr-:Messr3 Kebbell (Chairman), Benton, Warren, Eli Smith and S. George, The minutes of the previous meetr ; io" were read and confirmed. Inward corrrespondence.—From A. J. Boutiey, Vre land requited for road, stating that he will give same for £5 an acre, £SO for separ-; ation of land and road to be fenced. Consideration held over until next meeting. From John Davis, re ; : work,an Ihuraua road, requesting payment Thirds not to hand.
From M. P. Britt, requesting his name to be put on the roll in place of T. B. York Agreed to. From J. A. Smith with account for £2 5s for maintenance work. . _„„ . of his thirds. . r r7 r From J. W. ' be requested to defer taking further I steps meanwhile. i From County Eneineer, re amount i of work done on cuttings into • Ihurana creek, stating the value' was £ls.—Resolved that Mr Brannigan be informed that the Engineer's : estimate is £ls, and that the Board will pay him the £1 extra forfascening, provided he gives a receipt for full, otherwise he must complete the work according to contract. From County Clerk, stating that the services of the Engineer will be granted on the usual terms. From Eeceiver of Land Revenue, enclosing schedule of thirds. From Eketahuna Road Board, giving the Board permission to erect roagh bridges on Tawataia road, and if the understructure of the big one is made of totaia they will contribute £25. Resolved—That tenders be called for the work, alternative tenders for matai or totara for understructure, tenders to close next meeting. That Mr Lowes be written to, asking what sum he is prepared to give towards the bridge if the amouat in hand is not enough, and if the cost of advertisement calling tenders will be paid by him if the Board cannot deduct same out of thirds. That the thirds in hands from section 200, Block XII, Mangaone, be handed to the County to be expended in metalling the main road in accordance with wishes expressed by S. M. George to the Engineer". Several amounts of thirds were ■Allocated for Pah Valley Road. The payment sheet for £4O 12s was passed. Messrs.; Warren and Eli Smith were appointed to sign cheques. »—— mm.
