A successor to. Colonel Hume, Insptctor of Volunteers,, will only be appointed temperarily. Arrangement to place the Batteries under the commanding officers of Volunteers, in their respective,'districts, temporary one, and the Minister of Defense is now engaged drawing up a permanent scheme which will be submitted to Parliament next session.
