ROAD BOARD
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Masterton Road Board was held on Saturday, there being present Messrs Beetham (chairman), Daggand McKenfcie. The minutes of the previous meet ing having been read and confirmed, correspondence outwards and inwards was read. Mr P. Carr applied for an extension of his contract for one month. The application was granted, the contractor to Be charged the extra cost of supervision and fined if the work is not completed at the expiration of the month.
{Similar Applications from Messrs Cuuimitis and O'Sullivan weregranted.
The Clerk was instructed to inform Mrs Doaset that the gate on Dorset's road will be remove! in six months from date. It was resolved to take the necessary steps to apply for a loan as requested by liolstein aud others. Mr Bnick and others applied for the expenditure of thirds on a road through Stuckey's. It was decided to communicate with other owners, with a view to obtaining their consent to the proposal.
The tender of Mr Daniell was accepted for the construction of the Black Creek bridge. The Eogincer was instructed to furnish an ' estimate of the cost of repairing the branch road to Henderson's.
Messrs M'Kenzin and Dagg were appointed to sigu cheques. Owing to the small attendance of members, the Board at this stage adjourned for a week, when the remaining business will be transacted.
