Violent Assault.

Auckland, Marob 25. News has been received of a violent assault and robbery in Wairoa South district. The violim is a feeble old man of 76, a farmer, named William Bitch, Ue was enticed at night out of his house, a lonely place about a mile from any other dwelling, and was beaten and his watch and chain stolen. A young man named Thos. Fry, a laborer, has. been arrested on suspicion of having committed the offence.
