Though tickets were issued at a guinea each, about 200 gentlemen and a considerable number of ladies were present. The guest of the evening was proposed by Mi- Mo Arthur. The latter chased the lawyer's clerk who served , the writ overboard with a bottle aad*l marlin spike, got up sail, and went off in such a hurry that two of his officers had only just time to scramble on board. The lawyers, however, discovered that Muir had some property in Dunedin, which they forthwith attached.
