In reply to the letter from the Minister of Education regarding the leading article in the New Zealand Herald of the 7th February, the Auckland- branch of the Educational Institute have passed a resolution expressing the opinion that thearticle misrepresents the results of the present system of education; that it can in no sense be said to set forth the true state of education in the Auckland district, and that it does not need the further consideration of the Minister. Another resolution was also passed to the effect th it the Branch believed that if the recommendations of the Council of the Institute already brought under the notice of the Minister were given effect to, the system of education would be improved.
