FOOTBALL.
Rel star Football Club.
The annual meeting of the above Club was held in the Empire Hotel last evening, fully forty intending members being present. Mr A. E. D'Arcy was voted to the chair. The Secretary (Mr Wilsone) read the report and balance sheet tor the past year, which congratulated the Club upon its sound financial footing, and stated that, considering the unfavorable circumstances, the record of matches last year was very good, especially that of the second fifteen, which carried off the Junior Cup. The report was adopted as read Several new members were proposed, among whom were Messrs Baumber, Hutchison, Hansen, Boulcott, Cole, Kemeni, Renal], O'Neill, and others. Ihe election of officers for the year resulted as follows i President, Mr A. W. Cave : Vice-Presidents ; Messrs C. Pownali, T, Thompson.A. Walker, J. He&sey and J.Welch; Captain, Mr A. D'Arcy : Vice-Captain, Mr W. Watson ; Secretary, Mr W. Iggulden; Delegates to Union, Messrs Wilsone, D'Aicy, and Iggulden; Match Committee, first fifteen, Messrs Watson, Wilsone and Boar; second fifteen, Messrs D Wilton, Richards and Collier ; General Committee, Members of Match Committee.
It was resolved to open the season !on Saturday, March 21st, on the | Park Oval. The Club decided to enter two teams (senior and janior) for the Football Tournament in Carterton on Easter Monday, and to endeavour to got a Wellington Club to play them in Masterton on Good Friday. It was resolved that the annua) ball be held later in the season. Several minor matters having been discussed, votes of thanks were passed to the Chairman and Mrl Thompson for the use of the room, and a very successful meeting adjourned,
Jlasertton Football Club. , A special meeting of the Masterton Football Club was held in the Club Hotel last eveuing to consider the aduisubility of sending a team to take part in the tournament to be held at Carterton on Easter Monday. There was a large attendance of members, and the chair was occupied by Mr E. M. D. Whatman. After some discussion it was resolved that a team compete in the tournament, and fifteen members wereselected to play a match with Te Ore Ore on Saturday, the 31st inst,, from whom a team for Carterton shall be picked by the Match Committee, the advisability -* «Rtablißhing » gymnasium in con • «"■» " •■*■« Olub was suggested, nectiou with - ••-. matter but the consideration of tue . was held over till the annual meeting, 1 which takes place on Saturday week.
