ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Upper Taueru Road Board was held on the 7th March. Present—The Chairman and Messrs Macßae, Rutherford and Miller. CORRESPONDENCE. From Mr A. Wylie, enclosing cheque for rates. Bank of New Zealand, acknowledging receipt of £2O 15s 4d, being interest on loan. Mr F. Warner, enclosing promissory note for rates. Bank of Australasia, notifying that on and after February Ist, exchange will be charged at the rate of -J- per cent between Wairarapa and Wellington, one-sixteenth per cehibetween branches in the Wairarapa, with a minimum on oheques and orders, and Is on all drafts issued. Mr Perston applied to the Board for the services of the roadman for a fortnight. -
RESOLVED. ' That the roadman shall go to Mr Perston's for a fortnight as soon as the main road can be left with safety; and shall receive his instructions for the work to be done from Mr Perßton, That the roadman be authorised to engage a man to assist him. Accounts amounting to £8 4g were passed for payment.
