EKETAHUNA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

Professor Anderson gave a performance on Monday night, in the Town Hall, to a large audience. The performance was tlr best of its kind we have had here.

On Monday'tight the Roselle Surprise Company' gave a performance, but coming so close after the Professor, the attendance was not large. However, credit is due to the artists for the excellent manner in which they went through their various parts. The man with the iron jaw rather surprised! the audience by the sage in which he picked up with his teeth and swung about chairs, tables, etc. During the performance a slight scare was caused. While the trapeze business was going on, a kerosene lamp hanging in the centre of the hall fell, and the oil running out took fire. it. rusty was, t.q the door by a large number of wen and women, notwithstanding the efforts inade by Constable Boaobe to keep them quiet. There might have been a serious accident but for the coolness of Mr H. Aulin, who took his daughter's cloak and beat the fire out before much damage was done to the building. It was rather amusing for a time to see adults rushing for the door, scrambling and pushing one another in their efforts to escape, and the children wisely remaining in their seats. The rising generation are without dwbt the most n.'oble.
