ALADDIN.
The operatic buries/quo Aladdin, * played at the Palace. Tbeatro, Greytown, lust night, was a great success. The attendance was very good, there beinj? nearly four hundred people prosent. The performed are to bo congratulated upon the excellent manner in which they severally played their parts. It would be invidious to mention any one iu particular, where all were ' so good,but special praise must be awarded to the livoly youth Aladdin Mi&a Ethel Wood), the hero of tbV i
piece, and to the object of his affections the charmipg princess Badroulboudor (Miss Annie Gallagher). Never before in Grey town has socha diversity of scenery been displayed. The audience showed their appreciation of it in a most enthusiastic fashion. Mr Barnard m ust feel gratified that hi.-? efforts to Btage the p'ece in a first class manner ga»'e satisfaction to the house. The choicesc scene was the "Jewelled Cavern," and the final scene had quite £ an imposing 6ffect. The eongs and choruses were prettily rendsred but suffered from the poor attempt cf the accompanist who really did little to assist the juvenile singers. Between the acts Mr F H Wood came befoie f the curtain and thanked the audience in a few well-chosen words for their attendance and intimated Mr Barnard's intention of repeating the performance on Saturday evening next, also that his juvenile company would perform at Masterton for two nights and one each at Carterton and Featherston,
