Reaper and Binder Trial.
JNVKBOARaiLL, February 18. A reaper and binder trial to-day, i under the auspices of the Southland Agricultural and Pastoral Association, was an extremely representative affair, nine makers entering the lists, while a Mercer machine was present on exhibition. The weather was fine and the crop an average one, on the right side if anything, The awards first announced I'were as. follows :—Massoy, 'l72' points;* Hbrnßby,. 171; M,cCormiok, 170 ; " ~ Deering," • 16$; Wood, 160.j ißrint* t» I ; ford, 154; Beid and Gray, 150; Triumph* 148 ; maximum points was 895. No points were given for lightness of 'draught' • to the, Massey maohine, which had ~. been first in two previous years j' ba# "' ''' ,l; subsequently, and after some of the> , . judge 3 had left, the secretary stated " that he hadjmade an error, and thatp the Hornsby should have two points * for this. If upheld, this makes that machine the winner.
