COMMERCIAL.
Mr F. H. Wood reports of hia stock sale held at the Tarotahi yards yesterday as follows:—Owing to tho very rough weather some entries did not come forward that had been advertised. Still, a considerable number of sheep were yarded, and all disposed of under the hammer, at prices showing a slight improvement on last sale. The bidding \yas spirited throughout the sale, a large number >of buyers being present. There is a very good demand now for Sheep of all classes but very little enquiry for cattle. Prices at yesterday's sale are quoted as follows : —Sheep—2 tooth wethers, forward, 10s 6d; Ist class merino wethers, 6s Od to 9s Id ; fat ewes, 10s 4d; 2tooth ewes, 9s; storo ewes, F.M., Gs 6d to 7s Gd; forward ewes, mixed ages, 7s 9d to 8s 4d; Ist class merino ewes, 4s Gd, Cattle—Calves, yearlings, 14s; steers and heifers, 18 months to 2 years, 81s. Horses— Hacks, £1 to £8 ss. Pigs—Small, 8s Gd to 10s.
