RAM AND EWE FAIR.

The Masterton Earn and Ewe Fair was held at Messrs Lowes aud lorns* yards yesterday. The first day opened with Lincolus, of which the entries comprised some G6O, upwards of 600 being sold. The weather was most favorable, the attendance large and representative, aud the arrangements of the Society first-class. The prices obtained were good throughout, especially for all young Lmcolns, but aged sheep did not sell equal to last season. In 2tooths, Perry Bros, made the highest figure, namely 8i guineas, Mr Macara being the purchaser. Messrs W. Wilson and J. Hair, of Wanganui, came next with 6 guineas, Mr A. W. Cave and F. Lee being the purchasers respectively. As a lot Messrs Psrry Bros, and W. Wilson made guineas average for 40 and 20 rams respectively. Messrs JR. and A- Johnston, with 20, averaged 2 guineas ; Ml* A. Grant, with 20, 2 guineas ;Mr A. McHardy, 180, 2 guineas; Mr A. Dillon, 110, 2 guineas ; Messrs Williams and Beetham, 20, 2 guineas. A great number of rams, both 2 -tooth and aged, sold on account of various breeders and owners, ranging from 8 guineas down to 1 guinea. The sale of Romney Marsh and other breeds takes place to-day.
