The children, five in number, with ages ranging from fourteen months to seven years, have been taken charg2 of by Mr Lars Anderson, of Eketahuna, entirely at hiß own expense. He has applied to the Benevolent Society for aid, but they informed him th&t nothing couldbe done in the matter, He was informed thot the only way was to hand the children over to the police, which he did not like as Mrs Anderson had promised Mr Clifton that she would see to the children. It comes very hard on Mr Anderson to ha I ve to support the children out of his own pocket. Mrs Clifton has gone out to work, but has b°.en very ill, and quite unable to assist in any way.
