Sir Maurice O'Rorkehas consented to act on the Arnaboldi Commission, but will not be appointed on the Native Commission. The third man for the latter is still unchosen.
The Minister of Public Works has agreed to place £4OOO cn the Estimates for the completion of the Lunatic Asylum at Christchurch. Messrs Norbury and Trevor (LI7,000) are the successful tenderers for the Porirua 4sylum. The total acreage of Crown Lands disposed of last month was 37,892, perpetual lease 22,852, cash 18,158, deferred payment 1888.
Sir William Fitzherbert is not expected to recover.
