We are requested to correct the statement that William Harrison, who recently arrived in Masterlon in a destitute condition from Pahiatua, was sentenced to one month's ''hard labour" in Wellington Terrace Gaol. Me. Caselberg, the J. P. who was on the Bench, was very roluctaijt in coinuiittmg the man to gaol at all, but as the poor old fellow preferred gaol to returning to Pahiatua, it was the only alternativg, —* Miq main ropd at - The small bridsre - _ ~" f - r >wn, Wyett's corner, just entering Ur«,,. is being removed, and the formation filled in in a manner which will dispense with a viaduct altogether. The old bridge liaa lons been a nuisance.
