The children, fiyo in number, with ages ranging from fourteen months to seven years, have been taken chargs of by Mr Lars Anderson, of Eketahuna, entirely at his own expense. He has applied to the Benevolent Society for aid, but tbey informed him that nothing could be done in the matter. He was informed thot the only way was to hand the, children over to the police, ivhich he did not like doing as Mrs Anderson had promised Mr Clifton that she would see to the children. It comes very hard on Mr Auderson to have to support the children out of his own pocket. Mrs Clifton has gone out to work, but has b°.en very ill, and quite unable to assist in any way. Any one who conld assist by giving a little ' would be doing a charitable action. Subscriptions may be left at the ofticeof this paper. irECI F I c . I The Sovereign remedy for GO2sORRH(EA AND GLEET.
