The children, fiye in number, with ages ranging from fourteen months to seven years, have been taken charga of by Mr Lara Anderson, of Eketahuna, entirely at his own expense; He has applied to the Benevolent Society for aid, but thoy informed him that nothing could be done in tho matter. He was informed thot the only way was to hand the children ovor to the police, which he did not like doing as Mrs Anderson had promised Mr Clifton that she would see to theohildren. It comes very hard on Mr Anderson to have to support the children out of his own pocket. Mrs Clifton has gone out to work,.but has been very ill, and quite uiuble to assist in any way.
