The children, fiyo in number, with ages ranging from fourteen months to seven years, have been taken charga of by Mr Lars Anderson, of Eketahuna, entirely at his own expense. • Ho has applied to the Benevolent Society for aid, but they iuformed him thfrt nothing could be done in the matter, He was informed thot the only way was to hand the children over to the police, which he did not like doing as Mrs Anderson had promised Mr Clifton that she would see to the children. It comes very hard on Mr Anderson to have to support the children out of his own pockot. Mrs Clifton has gone out to work, but has bien very ill, and quite unable to assist in any way.
