The excellent shooting which has been done at the meeting was the subject of general conversation in the camp and in town yesterday, the Auckland team in particular coming in for great kudos for its fine performance in the teams match on {Saturday. i£ules, whose experience includes" two Wimbledon meetings, and a Wide range of Australasian shooting, declares that the firing at Omarami lies been on the whole, considering the small number of competitors.superior to the average at any gathering he ever attended. Sloane pays a similar compliment to the shooting of New Zealand men. At a Council meeting this morning Capt. Somerville's proposal regarding the abolishing of the Champion Belt was discussed in a conversational way, but as the consensus of opinion was against the proposition it was decided to do nothing in the matter at preseufc. Among a large section of competitors a strong opposition is also shown to the proposed alteration, bat the subject is likely to be brought ap again at the next Council meeting. About 7.80 this morning heavy rain set in, and gives every appearance of lasting all day, At the conclusion of the Grand Aggregate match, Kruse of Wanganui, was leading for the Belt with 477, Sloane of Victoria, 468, and Perry of Wanganui, 464.
