He has applied to the Benevolent Society for aid, but they informed him tha-t nothing could be done in the matter, He was informed thot the only way was to hand the children over to the police, which he did not like doing as Mrs Anderson had promised Mr Clifton that she would see to the ohildren. It comes very hard on Mr Anderson to have to support the children out of his own pocket. Mrs Clifton has gone out to work, but has b*ea very ill, and quite unable to assist in any way.
