EKETAHUNA-FRIDAY. (Before Colonel Roberts, R..M.) Fur.ioua Elding. Police v. Higgins, furious ridim,-. The defendant pleaded guilty. Constable Scott, sworn, depostd thr.t the accused was, in company with another, riding furiously through tbe public Btreet oE Eketahuna on December 4th to the danger of the children who were on their way to school. peter Kuster was also called in support of the charge. For the defence Gr. Barlow, sworn, deposed that he had sold the horse to defendant a day or two before, aud that she was hard to bold. By the police: I am still living in the same house with the defendant, who had not got the horse very long from me. Tbe reason I sold it was because it had run away with me several tiroes at Pahiatua. I took defendant in in selling him the horse, which was always dangerous to ride through the town.

Judgment was held over till the hearing of the next case. Police v. Edward Toohill, similar offence. The defendant pleaded guilty. The evidence in this case was similar to that in the Inst. The defendant in each case was fined one shilling. Civil. Kelliher v Gorman.—No appearance of either party. Struck out. Kelliher v Atterman. —No appear* ance of plaintiff. Defendant denied the debt. Case struck out. Jones v Higgins.—Not served. Enlarged for service. Wallace v Kelliher.—Adjourned to next Cpurb day. H. Aulin v Woolf.—Claim on dishonored promissory note of £59 16s 6d. Defendant did not appear. Judgment for amount claimed, with costs £2. Peagrum v Greenwood.—rNo appearance of defendant. Claim, £8 15s for wages. Judgment for amount claimed, with costs £l. E. A. Haggen v Chisholm.— Adjourned till next Court day. F. C. Tumor v Lars Anderson. —Claim £ls 6s 4d {«* meat and potatoes supplied. did not deny the debt, but iu his defence stated that be had a Bet off for work done for plaintift and that the price eharged for the potatoes, £8 per ton, was too much. His Worship pointed out that he should have filed the set off, but he could take no notice of it now. Judgment was given for the amount claimed, with costs.
