MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.

Tho monthly meetiDg of the 'Masterton Boad Board was held on Saturday last. Present—Messrs Beetham (Chairman), M'Kenzio and McLeod, Tho minutes of tho previous meeting were read and confirmed. Tho Glork was instructed to write to the Survey Department for a planof the Upper Fernridge road for the purposeof making application for a loan for forming certain roads, Mr Carman waited on the Board with reference to the complaints as to the state of the gates on tho road leading through his property, also as to the trees on the road. He said he thought it the duty of tho Board, to move off the trees, and that there was no foundation for the complaints re gates, H!e askod if there were any further complaints that tho Board would send out some impartial person to examine and report upon the position of the gates. •Messrs Joseph and Wright wrote regarding a drain across the Upper Opaki road, It was decided to reply that the matter was arranged for in a contract about to be let, Tho Clerk was instructed to ascertain the position of tho road through Okurupoti Native Reserve leading to Mr Cave's property, and at the same time obtain from the Crown Lands Office the dites on which the Crown grants of the several seotious through which tho roads mentioned in the letter dated November 18th, mature'. Tho Engineer was instructed to lay off a lino through TeWerailito connect the road on the east side of Taucru with the Te Weraiti road.
