SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

' TUo Treasurer reported that sino last meeting the Chairman had con senjed to act as guarantor to th bank for an overdraft to meet liabil ties until the capitation grant wi forthcoming. -Accounts amountin to £23 Is fid had been paid, and tt present liability was £22 4s 4d. Th capitation grant of £2O would I forthcoming in about a month. The Seciptapy reported that tl police had sorved notices to a nun ber of parents whose children we: not attending the school. Mr Daniell thought that the would all regret tbe resignation of M M'Ewen, who had always {aken, keen interest hi sphpol patters,' " Mr'Kton endorsed thasehtkenl oi Mr Daniell. - Mr Danioll pointed out that M Edwin Feist had signified his willing ness to again take a seat on the Con mittee. Mr Easthope moved that th resignation of Mr E, M'Ewen to accepted with regret, and that a cop of this resolution be sent to him i writing. Mr Hoar seconded. Mr Prangnell expressed regret a the loss 'sustained by the resignatio: of Mr M'Ewen. ' Mr Jackson stated that tbe scboc was very muoh indebted to M M'Ewen for the interest he ha taken in school matters during hi term of office. ' Mr M'Ewen acknowledged the kin footings extended towards him. The motion was put and carriei unanimously. . Mr Daniells, moved that Mr Feis be invited to take the vacant seat di the ajiilbe recpmmendw to, tlig Board f«r appointment. . Mr 1 Easthope seconded, and sug gested that lie bo asked to take hi old position as Chairman. . Mr Eton thought/it would to rather premature to ask Mr Feist ti assume the chairmansliip before hii appointment./ The motion was put and carried.
