BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The ordinary fortnightly meeting of tho Masterton Borough Counoil was held laßt evening, Present— His Worship the Mayor, and Crs Culleu, Gapper, Eton, Eonall, Perry, and Dixon, The minutes of the previous meeting wero read and confirmed, ConRESPONDENOE. From the Eailway Commissioners offering to supply coal at H per tonFrom,Treasury,Wolliugton,stating that LI lis had been remitted to the bank for fines, etc, From the Chairman of the Water Supply Committee, slating that ho would hold tho Counoil responsible for any diniage caused through the water channels being filled Jin, —The Mayor moved that the letter be laid on the table. A communication was read from the fireman of the Wellington gasworks with reference togas retorts and a tank,. _ The report as read, wbioh authorised Mr Kobinson to repair the tank at the gasworks,-was adopted.
