H, Wood reports "of the stock sale held at his Taratahi yards yesterday, as follows :-Qnly about 400 sheep were yarded, but cattle we plentiful, the yards all being filled, mostly by young stock. TJie attendance of buyers was largo, and bidding spirited, all stock selling readily under tho hammer, There was a big demand for sheep, which, unfortunately for buyers and the auctioneer, couM qqt be supplied, The fqllqwing poos .were realised;— Sheep,—ln the. wiil; ewes and lambs, a'rather inferior and somewhat mixed lot of 120, lis 8d; hoggets, 10s to 10s Od; do culls, 5s 2d to 6s; shorn sheep, fat owes, !)s, No wethers yarded. Cattle,— Calves, 16s to 20s; yearlings, 24s to 28s; 18s months old steers, 28s to 355; do heifers, 25s to 80s; 2 year, old steers, 40s to sjs; do heifers,' '. 8.83 ip 425; '2|year-qld'steers, a pep of 80 in good forward condition, 02s'; dairy cows, iQ$ to 57s fid; stpro dq, : 20s to 40s.
