THE MAORL TROUBLE.
Esoltevontat Auckland. (By Telegraph,) (United Press Association;) Auckland, Thursday. The whole city was thrown into a state of excitement again this morning by another expedition against the Maoris. At ho o'clock an armed force consisting of Inspector Broham, Sergtß, Gamble and Bernard, 20 constables, Detectives Chrystal and Ede, and Capt Morrison and 35 men of the Perraonent force, accompanied by Mr Lewis, Under-Secretary, left by special train for Mercor, en route for Pukekawa, Tawhiao's settlement. The object was to arrest Heri Kaibau, Tawhiao's Secretary, who Bomo months ago destroyed a Trig station in the Upper Thames district and this interfered with the surveys which were being parried on by |Jr Cbeal, government Surveyor, A Bummons was issued, but Kailiau ignored it. A warrant wa|( then issued, and in the dead of night the Government Commissaries were hurrying about, and the Railway Station, where the forbes assembled, was a scene of great excitement, The party arrived at; Mcroer Boon after daybreak, but the natives did not even leave, their work in the potato field, Kaibau gayc himself up to the leaders of the force, and Tawtaio said they were quite satisfied but the Government should sift the whole caro to the bottom, The expedition is now on its way back to .town;
