SCHOOL EXAMINATION

Hastorton School

The examination of the" Masterton Publio School was concluded by Inspector.'Lee yesterday. : As there were only sixteen failures, the result must be exceedingly, gratifying to Mr Jackson and his able staff, In Standards I, 11, IV and VII there was not' a single failure,. There | were nine unsuccessful candidates in Standard 111, three in Standard V aud four in Standard VI. Before; dismissing tbo children yesterday, Mr Leo delivered a short address, in which he complimented the school upon maintaining its high reputation as one of the best in the district. In several large classes every candidate had passed, and some particularly streng. He referred in detail to the excellent work of some of the classes, but mentioned that of the girls in Standard IV as exceptionally neat, -V
