THE STRIKE.
IMPORTANT STATEMENT. AN OPEN ENEMY. SiDNEr, October 15, Sir B. Parkes made a Ministerial statement last night. Referring to the strike he said the Colony had already lost more material wealth than if an enemy had been at its gatas. Tb« strike has now assumed the form of an open enemy to the constituted Government of the coun- ' try, The result of the strikers attitude in opposing themselves to the Government was that fuel for the railways was nnobtainable. What hid taken place was little short of a revolution and rery little farther would plunge the country into undis* guiied war, Someone must be master, and, further added the Pre* mier," the Government of the Oolony will be master." The Cabinet there* fore had decided to enter into no contest on the fiscal question .during the prevalence of the labor dispute. It is expected that tl|o budget will merely ts](e the form of a statement qf revenqe and expenditure and no qew proposes will he placed before the House, Mr Dibbs accused the Gorernnien> - of a breach qf faith in sheltering themselves behind the labor strike, and expressed his determination to force an appeal to the country,
