CORRESPONDENCE.

Tio Hoturo3quo Atlas, (To the Editor,) '■ Sir,—You are always cautioning the public about book fiends, This morning a gentleman called and said, "I have brought your Picturesque Atlas," I said at first I had not ordered it, but I remembered a man coming Borne months ago. Tunderstood-it wasjnst an Illustrated paper. I told him no, I did not want it and would not take it. He said it was only five shillings a number, so before he left I said, " well, I will takeono.number.andno moro." Ashe was leaving he said, " sign your name so that we can know where to deliver it." Of course it was with the understanding that I was to have one number and no more. The man who delivered the book said, " read this, it is your signature for forty.two parts," I felt so angry,. I said I would go to a lawyer. He then read a paragraph from a paper down South. He said I would have to take it and pay, so I shall have to pay £lO 10s instead | of five shillings, It is shameful tliat people are to be trapped in this wiy. If I was well off and could afford it it would not matter so much. It will teach me, however, never to sign my name without I know what it is for. I thought I would let you know as a caution to others.—l am, etc, A. B. Yates.
