ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of tho Upper Taueru Koad Board was heldon October 4th, 1890, Present— The Chairman, and Messrs MacKae, Miller, Perry and Eutherlord, The minutes of tho previous meeting wore read and confirmed, CoimESPoraENCE, Prom Bank of New Zealand, acknowledging receipt of £2015s 4d, being interest ior half year on loans tindor Govornraont Loans to Local Bodies Act. Prom Property Tax Department, re subsidy, From Messrs Cuff and Graluni re rates. From Mr 1), T. Stuart, forwarding chequo for rates. From Messrs Johnston & Co, stating that their piopcrty had been sold to Mr Elijah Wilton. Applications. From Mr McGovern, applying for the roadman's services to fall scrub, on the Mahgaone road. From Mr J. Johnston, for the lines of road to be defined along his property to enable him to fence. From the roadman, asking the Board to build him a house on the toad to enable hira to be nearer his work, and allow him to pay for it at tho rate of £lO per annum,
From MrPerston, for services oi tho roadman. Granted.
From Mr Miller, for services of the roadman. Granted. Resolved, That the olerkjwrite to the County. Engineer, asking for tracings of the lino of road on Stevens' contract. That the roadman do the work for Mr Nicbolls as promised at- a previous meeting.
That Mr McGovern's application stand over till next meeting. That the roadman's application, re building house, be further considered at next meeting. The balance sheet was submitted by the Clerlt, duiy audited and found i corrpot. .... ' Accounts amounting to iifis were passed for payment, The next meeting of the Board will be held on the first Saliitaiiy in November.
