(United Press Association.) South British Insurance Company ' Auckland, Wednesday, The annual meeting of the South British Insurance Company was held to-duy. Tho Directors, in submitting their annual report, oxpressed rogret that the result of the Company's operations had been so unfavourable The revonuo from premiums and interests amounted to £253,207 Is. The expenditure, including balance brought forward on 81st August, 1889 amounted to £207,989 1b 4d, leaving a dobifc balance of £44,682 0s 4d, at datoof closing'accounts. This result was entirely dm to losses sustained at two of the Company's branches, and cost of reinsuring the Company's business in the United States and elsewhere, With the exceptions referred to the business had been prosperous and satisfactory. Captain Daldy in moving the adoption of the report stated Le intended to retire from the position of Chairman of Directors, owing to weight of years, and expressed his deep regret at the state of the company.
