EVADING- TOLLS'
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—ln your issue of tho 22nd ultimo, Mr Taplin writes saying that I accused him of ovading the toll at tho Taueru. What I said at the Council meeting was this; "I had been informed that Mr Taplin was ovading tho toll by driving posts into his paddcck, etc., and asked if an enquiryjbe mado if such was the very glad to fiud from Mr'i'aplin's letter that I had been misinfoiwd, and from tho appearance of tho go'Jjiay at tho north side' of the should should say that it bad not been used for wheeled traffic for a considerable time.
