DEHCOCK, Ownor, TO stand tills season at Homcbusli, Masterton, tlio celebrated Stallion NIL DESPEKANDUM, NIL DESrERANDUM is a black colt with first class action, rising threo ycais old, IGJ hands high, 13 inches below tho knee, 31 inches round tlio arm, and 7ft 0 inches in girth, He is beyond doubt the best bred colt standing in New Zealand, possessing more bone and linir than any horso of his ago .in tho North or South Islands, and admitted at last show by competent judges to be tho class of horse which has long been wanted to im[irovo the draught stock of this district. Nil Dcspcrandum has been exhibited at 5 of tho principal shows in N Z, and from large rings lias secured four first and ono second prizes, He is a massive animal, with immense bone of the finest quality, abundant hair, and perfect symmetry united with great power. He combines some of the best strains of Clydesdale blood in the world, and lie Ins been generally admired wherever exhibited. His sire is the celebrated horse No Surrender, (tee NZ SB 197). No Surrender is out of that great brood mare Farmers' Lass (the dam of Springbank, that was a champion horse at Ownaru when only two years old, King of the King, and the most promising ot colts the Farmers' Lad). Farmers' Lass was by Muir Lad inported (71 N Z S li) sire I'iide of Scotland, dam Jess by Premier, imported by David Iscsbitt. This famous sire took many first prizesin Melbourne and ma sold to Mr Town of N S W, for 1170 giiiiicas> .DamDmby, by liriton, that was placed first at the Melbourne Show in 1873, and was sold at 130 g|dnca< • the highest price ever given for a colonial marc up to that time. Very shortly after she was purchased by Messrs' Fleming and Hedlcy and taken to New Zealand. When the maro was 14 years old she was sent to Sydney and fetohed 150 guineas at auction, No Surrender's sire was that great horse King of Vanquishers, bred by Messrs Fleming anil Hedlcy, out of the celebrated brood marc Jliss M'Cormick, now the property of Itobert Jackson Esq, Cave Valley; she was also the dain of Maggio M'Cormick, which also took the'chanipion from Heather Hell when only a yearling. When only three years,_ King of the Vanquishers was sold by Mr Daniel M'Grcgor fur JSO guineas; g sire Young Vanquisher, imported from Scotland by David Ncsbitt and well known as a great breeding siro both in Timnrunrid Ontnaiudistricts. It will thus oe seen that this colt is come from the very beat draught strains on both sides. No Surrender never left a show ground in N Z witlioula prize beating both colonial and imported horses, and in pne year swept' cvciythiug from Duncdin to Cliristchurch, The sire of No Surrender is the renowned King of the Vanquishers) who took fir«t prize at Cliriatcliurcli last year, beating Bong's great General Gordon and is now about fourteen years old, The King was bred by Messrs Fleming and Hedlcy, out of their famous brood mnre Miss M'Cormick, imported from Melbourne. Miss M'Cormick was purchased by the late David Ncsbitt from M'Cormick Ilros, and wa« specially selected for her breeding qualities—the correctness of that judgment has now been f .Uy verified.
