MASTERTON-OPAKI JOCKEY CLUB.

Tho annual meeting of tbe.Master-toh-Opaki Jockey Club was hold in the Club Hotel o"n Saturday evening last, about twenty members being present, Tho chair was occupied by the President, Mr T, E. Chamberlain.

Tho minutes of tbe previous meet' ing were read and confirmed,

report was then put and carried, . Tho report of the Subcommittee on the financial position of tho Club

was read and adopted,

Tho election of officers for the ensuing? year was then proceeded with, with the following result: — President,Mr A, Walker; Secretary, Mrß, H, Wadc'ington; Judge, Mr, A, W, Cave (unanimously re-elected); Treasurer, Mr A. Elkins (re-elected); Handicapper, Mr A, Macfarlane; Clerk of Scales, Mr B, Hare; Clerk of Course, Mr W. lorns; Timekeeper, Mr James Muir; Starter, Mr T. H. Hill; Stewards—Messrs Brown, Macara, J, lorns, Henderson, W. Hirschberg, Yallaoce, Cowper, E. Chamberlain, and B. Cave. Messrs Dalrymple and Hathaway were appoiuted Auditors. Mr A. Walker, in returning thanks for the position in which he had been placed, stated that ho would do his best to have the financial position of the Club reversed by the next annual meeting (applause.) It was resolved that a two days' summer moeting be held on the same day ns last year, viz,, Boxing Day | and tho day following, Two new membors wcro unanimously elected,Votes of thanks to the retiring officers and tho Chairman wero passed, Tho noxt general meeting, to consider programmo, etc., is to be held on Saturday next,
