Strike Pay.
Wellington, Satrrday. About £460 was distributed aa strike pay to-day, The cooks and stewards on strike here have carried a resolution authorising their Executive to use the invested fund amounting to about £ISOO. The Taieri, whioh brought 2000 tons oi coal from Brisbane will land half here aud will take the remainder for her own use on the voyage to Calcutta, where she goes with horses. The publicans have subscribed £B6 to the strike fund. The strikers hold a demonstration to-day, and march in jSßession through the main streets, headed by bands. The Hauroto takes her cargo of ooals south.
