I wish, sir, to state emphatically that" I never on any occasion have evaded the toll, and furthermore have no|> taken any conveyance through the^L. gate for over twelve months. Be'f<Hr ■'} making the statement Cr Handyside* did at the Council meeting he should ' have been sure the information was correct. That it wbb not, I am prepared to prove by the .Council's own - 1 servants, and I challenge Mr Handy- ' side to give tho namo of the person who told lum I have been evading the toll.
