Tuunu, Thursday. Judge Ward to-day gave judgment in the action to recover damages for injuries through a borso putting bis foot through a plank on fho County road bridge. Tho Judge lield that it was the duty of a . Council to keep bridges on country roads in repair whilst continuously used for ordinary traffic; and the weight - of, evidence showed that the plank wa3 worn and rotten. The Council could not havo used reasoqablo diligence. Consequently they were responsible.
