An adjourned meeting of the Alfredton Road Board wbb hold'on
September" 9th, Presont—Messrs Kobbcll (Chairman), S. M. George, J. Smith, H. Benton, Eli Smith and H. Warren,
The minutes of tho previous meeting were read and confirmed.
Imyards correspondence.»- From Treasury, schedule of thirds sent to the Bank, From F. Whyte, re thirds, enquiring, if any had been received. The Clerk waa instructed

in hand and that the work would be done later on. Prom Bank of New Zealand, stating that £73 lis had been received from the Pay-master General. (Thirds), From George Piatt, requesting the Board to state if the road where repairs are needed
is outside the district and giving spot where work requires lobe done, On reference to tho map it was uoen that tbe spot indicated was in
the district, It was resolved that Mr Piatt bo informed that the consent of the Land Hoard will be asked and the mgney applied for to be pajd far from thirds due from the
section. From Isaao Pol, reusing thirds for track. Resolved, that Mr Pol's thirds be expended to the amount in hand with the consent of the L»nd Board, Prom Colonial
Secretary, stating that tho special Order levying special rates o.f three eighths of Id in the £ was gazetted on Sjept i 6h, Messrs J. Pay ton and Co's account (or 'if $ 3s ?d was passed for payment, Tenders wero opened for 34 chains forrqatio} on Pjh Valley Road Sp.uth..as under ;—Thomas Ashwortb, £$ (aocopted); Henry Oudby, £si (informal); J, W Andrews, £69.
Resolved that Messsrs Goorgeand Kebbell be appointed to sign 'for Pah. "Valley Bbad. Tb paymont sheet of £9 19s'9d' was passed, ■" , Messrs Geoi'go. and Benton were appointed to Bigu ob,ecjuep,,
