Chamberlaia was voted to the chair and stated the objects of the meeting, at the same time pointing out that it would be unfair to ask the Miki Miki settlers to contribute towards making.'the road from tho Miki junction through Ibe wvamp to Christenden's, as they were already heavily taxed with a special rate for bridge, &c. He also suggested that two separate loans be applied for, pointing out that any loan they got granted could only bo applied to uew. works and not to maintenance. Mr Alex. McLeod agreed with the Chairman's remarks, and' thought the sum'required to do the work would be about i9OO, and spoke at some length on the areas proposed to Le rated. Mr P. Cotter proposed that a sum of £2OO (if that sum bo required) beappliedfor metalling and forming mi from Bchoolhouse to junction of tlia Miki Miki. This was seconded by Mr E. Chamberlain and carried unanimously. Mr. Angus McLeod then proposed that a second loan be applied for to continue the road from Miki Miki junction through tho swamp as far Christenden's.
