WHAKATAKI.
(From an Occasional Correspondent.) Yesterday (Thursday) was one of the roughest days we have experienced this winter. The coast mail did not arrive here until to-day, in consequence of the rivers being in flood, The cold weather must have played great havoc with the lambs. Lovers of eoa -fishing-will have, a Gne opportunity of enjoying themselves this summer, our storekeeper (Mr J, Osborne) having purchased a fishing plant and engaged an experienced fisherman, who will be in attendance at Uastlepoint. He is also in hopes of sending, a supply of fish to Masterton twice a week.
. Our host (Mr J, Mcintosh) inteadi havine; n good track for the Boxin; Day sports, having ploughed it am sown it with grass. It will no doub be in good order for the day. September sth, 1880.
