DAIRY COMPANY.

The annual report of the Dalefield Dairy Company, which was adopted at tlio meeting of shareholders held at Carterton on Thursday, shows that during the year tho company dealt with 205,197 gallons of milk, of which' 1080 gallons wero sold, and tlmf balance made ■ into 269,6771bs .of cheese. This was an increuso of. 109,918 gallons as compared with last year, In common with other cheese and butter factories, it was found impossible to get shipping space for the output during the summer, and thiß involved a loss of not less than LIOOO, Large quantities of cheese had to be stored in Wellington, and when shipped it was too late for the best market. In future, however, fortnightly shipments could be made and space had already been ongaged, A profit of LB3 8s lOd had been made on the pigs, and it was believed they would in future be a permanent source of profit, The working expenses showed a substantial reduction per gallon of milk, owing to the largely inoreased supply, The result of tho yoar's working would give on an average a little more than 2|d per gallon to the milk suppliers, The managerj Mr Gosa, lias resigned his position, but tho directors had offers from competent men to fill tW& position.
