(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION) . Auckland, August 18, The body of the late Charles Gould, accidentally shot at WMkalane, was Bent to Lyttleton to-day by tbe Takapuna. 'The interment is to take place at Christohurch,' . The milk suppliers of Auckland have formed an association with the object of increasing the price ot milk to 6d per gallon, or GJd inoludiug carriage. The prisoner Black, charged with the murder atjGisborne, was brought to Auckland to-d'ay by the Tarawera for trial at the ensuing sessions of the Supreme Court.
Business in Euaotuua shares was very brisk at the Stook Exohange to-day. 'Two new companies were formed to-day to work claims on the field.
A dispute has arisen .between the Auckland Trotting Club and the Northern Trotting and Pony Club as to which is the senior body. The latter Club was appointed the senior bytheNew Zealand Trotting Association, but the Auckland Trotting Olub, which recently seoeded from the Association, was the first established. The delegates from Auckland and the suburban lire brigades, at a meeting to-day, resolved to invite the United Firo Brigade Association to hold the next annual Conference in Auckland.
HokitikA, August 18. There is a strong feeling m Kumara and portions of this district against granting the midland Railway deviation.
