BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.
The usual monthly meeting of the Wawapa North Benevolent Society was held in the Institute this morning. Present-Messrs R. M, Galloway (in the chair;, $, D, Dagg, W. ' Perry, E, McEwen, and T. Chamberlain.
The minutes of the" last meeting were read and confirmed. .
Correspondence wae read from United District Board and others, Tho Secretary was instructed to write to representatives on the District Board,' to ascertain why the demmds made by the Society for supplies sre not complied with, Tho police report was read, and the cases as amended ordered to be coninued till next meeting. It was reported that Archibald Dunn and William Foster, who had been receiving relief, had become deceased since last meeting. Accounts amounting to £5812s 2d were passed for payment, when funds permit, an urgent domand to be made on the United District Board for the same.
Tra Chairman and Sectetary were appointed a committee to inquire into special esses, with power to act. The meeting then adjouraed.
