The Public Petitions Committee, to whom Maboney's petition was reforred back for consideration for the amoun tof compensation to be awarded to the petitioner, reported that he was entitled to £BBS, and recommended that the sum be paid to him less the amount of law cost. After some disoussion the debate was adjourned till next day. The Dog .Registration Bill was received from the Legislative Council and the amendment made agreed to.
