•' PaWio'Moating. [By Telegraph] (From Oar Own Correspondent.] . Carterton, Thursday, Thirty householders attended a public meeting atJJalefield last night, Mr James Gordon, chairman of the School Committee,' presiding, It was explained that it had been proposed by Mr Lee, Inspector of Schools, to remove tho Dalefield school one and (i quarter miles down Waterson's road, and to bring the Mataruwa.school'to the same spot and combine the two. The chairman said Mr W. C. Buchanan MiU.R., had written to say that no action would bo taken until a committee of the EdUcitiou Board, .Messrs Beetham, "Bunny, and Buchanan had visited the locality and reported. A discussion then ensued, and tho tone of the meeting was emphatically against the removal. The following resolptioua were then carried,—First, that this meeting strongly protest against the proposal to remote the School as it will increase the:distance the majority of children have to trayel, and that the Education Board be written to to this effect.
